- Greetings,
-
- Well, stuffing Pascal would relent to shooting all the Delphi
- programmers out there. True, C++ is the wiser
- choice out of the two - but Smalltalk or Lisp??? Lisp
- is for AI work (you'd rather go to LOGO if you want to go there, at
- least you can play with turtle graphics), and Smalltalk has its
- features but C++ is pretty much there). Now, a young programmer
- should know Ada95 and C++. If you want to get a GOOD job programming,
- start at that level. if you just like to poke around, learn COBOL and
- BASIC. These languages are the popular ones to nonprogrammers. Pascal
- is a last resort, but ask yourself if you see many jobs hiring for
- Pascal/Delphi programmers. The job market should guide you through
- college, not the other way around.
